How to play

How to play

A bit rusty on the Ambrose rules? Here’s a refresher…

  • A team of four players score together (Four Person Ambrose).
  • Each player hits off the tee, the best ball is selected, and all other players play alongside the best ball’s position.
  • All players must play the ball from within 1 club length of the original ball, no nearer the hole, staying within the same conditions (fairway, rough, bunker etc) and 1 putter head on the green. This process is repeated until the ball is holed.
  • Each player must contribute a minimum of 3 drives during the round.
  • Total stroke score is recorded for each hole played.
  • At the completion of the round, signed scorecards with clearly visible NETT & GROSS scores including team handicap are to be handed in.
