Lifting spirits in the Tamworth Hospital emergency department

The emergency department (ED) can be an overwhelming and unsettling place for children who are ill or injured – that’s where our Activity Packs come in.

The emergency department (ED) can be an overwhelming and unsettling place for children who are ill or injured, like Phoebe.

When Phoebe presented to ED with a suspected broken arm she was so happy and excited to be gifted one of our activity packs to lift her spirits and keep her entertained while she awaited tests.

The activity packs are made up of items generously donated by the local community – including colouring books, fidget toys, small teddies and games.

They’re wrapped by our incredible volunteers and delivered to the ED ready to provide comfort to children in need.

“It was really overwhelming being in the ED.  The pack was a great distraction from the pain and helped keep Phoebe entertained while we awaited results.  We were so grateful for the pack provided by Ronald McDonald House,” said Phoebe’s mum, Hannah.

Phoebe was so excited to receive an activity pack from the ED staff – her smile says it all.

With your generosity, we can continue to help our Chapters expand their reach and ensure even more families are supported throughout the world.
